Take the Currency Risk Out of Cross-Border Trade

The moment you trade across a border, a moving exchange rate can quietly erase the margin you priced in. We help you manage currency risk and cross-border payments so an international deal stays as profitable as it looked on paper.

What This Solves

The moment you buy or sell across a border, currency becomes part of the deal. A rate that moves between the day you agree a price and the day you actually pay or get paid can quietly erase your margin, and moving money internationally adds cost, timing and complexity most domestic transactions never face.

Foreign exchange and treasury support give you control over that risk. You can lock in rates, plan payments with certainty and protect your margins from currency swings, so an international order stays as profitable as it looked when you priced it.

Broadstone focuses this capability on the FX, cross-border payment and treasury needs tied to international trade. Unlike a full corporate treasury-management platform, our job is to help you understand your currency exposure, structure the right approach and engage the FX and payment providers suited to your trade flows.

How Each Piece Solves the Problem

If you simply need to pay or get paid in another currency, start with foreign currency payments and conversion. If your concern is a rate moving before a future payment settles, forwards and hedging strategies are built for exactly that. Each is described below.

Foreign Currency Payments & Conversion

You need to pay an overseas supplier or receive payment from a foreign customer, and doing it through the wrong channel adds cost and delay. Streamlined foreign currency payments and conversion let you send and receive across currencies efficiently.

Spot Foreign Exchange Transactions

A spot transaction handles the conversion at the current market rate, giving you a fast, direct way to complete a cross-border payment when timing matters.

FX Forward Contracts

You have agreed a price today but will not pay or get paid for weeks or months, and the rate could move against you in between. A forward contract locks in an exchange rate now for that future date, so you know your exact cost or revenue regardless of how the market shifts.

FX Swaps

Your currency needs do not always line up on the same dates, and you may need one currency now and another later. An FX swap lets you exchange currencies at one date and reverse it at another, helping you manage timing mismatches in cross-border cash flow.

FX Options / Hedging Strategies

You want protection if a rate moves against you, but you also do not want to lose out entirely if it moves in your favor. FX options and structured hedging strategies let you strike that balance, protecting your downside on currency exposure while keeping room to benefit, tuned to how much risk your business can carry.

Cross-Border Payment Solutions

Recurring international payments to suppliers, partners or subsidiaries can be slow, costly and hard to track. Cross-border payment solutions make those flows more efficient and predictable, so paying across markets becomes a routine part of operating rather than a monthly headache.

Treasury Solutions Supporting International Trade

Managing currency, payment timing and cash across borders is a discipline in itself, especially as trade volume grows. We help you put treasury practices in place that support your international trade, from managing exposure to coordinating payments, matched to the way your business actually trades.

Our Approach

We are an advisor first. We start by understanding where currency and cross-border payments touch your business, then build around that.

Understand the Business

We map your trade flows, currency exposure and payment timing, so any strategy fits your real transactions rather than a generic template.

Structure the Solution

We evaluate the alternatives and structure an approach to managing currency risk and cross-border payments sized to your exposure and your appetite for risk.

Execute Across the Capital Markets

We engage the FX providers, banks and payment specialists suited to your trade flows and help you put the approach into practice.

Is Currency Eating Into Your Margins?

If you buy or sell across borders, a moving exchange rate should not be the thing that decides whether a deal is profitable. Tell us how you pay and get paid internationally and we will show you how to take the guesswork out of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Capital decisions often come with questions. Here are answers to common questions about Broadstone’s approach, the solutions we support, and how we work with companies to evaluate and access capital.
Does Broadstone run our entire corporate treasury?
No. Our treasury support is centered on foreign exchange, cross-border payments and the treasury needs tied to international trade. We are not a full corporate treasury-management platform. We focus on the currency and payment side of trading across borders.
What is the difference between a spot transaction and a forward contract?
A spot transaction converts currency at today’s rate for an immediate payment. A forward contract locks in a rate now for a payment that happens later, which protects you if the market moves before then. Which one you need depends on whether the payment is happening now or down the road.
How does hedging protect my margins?
When you price an international deal, you are assuming a certain exchange rate. If the rate moves before you settle, your actual margin can shrink. Hedging tools like forwards and options let you fix or protect that rate, so the profit you planned for is the profit you keep.
Do you provide FX services directly?
We help you understand your exposure and structure the right approach, then engage the FX and payment providers suited to your trade flows. As with our other solutions, our role is to evaluate, structure and connect you with the right provider rather than act as the counterparty ourselves.
